Resumen
La atención al recién nacido prematuro reviste gran interés para los profesionales de la salud, debido a que la mayor cantidad de defunciones de neonatos se encuentra en este grupo prioritario, por ello, se formuló el objetivo de determinar la percepción de las madres acerca de los roles de enfermería al recién nacido prematuro en el área de Neonatología del Hospital Teodoro Maldonado Carbo, durante octubre del 2018 a enero del 2019. Se aplicó la metodología cualitativa, etnográfico, con base en la entrevista a las madres de los neonatos prematuros, obteniéndose los siguientes resultados:el rol asistencia de enfermería, fue bueno, algo cálido, orientado hacia la protección del neonato mediante el uso de los equipos de protección personal y el trato afectivo para el recién nacido; el rol educativo de enfermería fue regular, rara vez suministró información oportuna a la madre sobre el estado de salud del neonato, esta se centró en la lactancia materna exclusiva, afecto y autocuidado del niño; respecto al rol investigativo de enfermería, las madres no visualizaron investigaciones relacionada a su recién nacido; respecto al rol administrativo de enfermería esta fue algo desorganizada. The attention to the premature newborn is of great interest for health professionals, because the highest number of neonatal deaths is in this priority group, therefore, the objective of determining the perception of mothers about the Nursing roles for the premature newborn in the area of Neonatology of the Teodoro Maldonado Carbo Hospital, from October 2018 to January 2019. The qualitative and ethnographic methodology was applied, based on the interview with the mothers of the premature neonates, obtaining the following results: nursing care role was good, something warm, oriented towards the protection of the newborn through the use of personal protective equipment and emotional treatment for the newborn; the nursing educational role was regular, rarely provided timely information to the mother about the state of health of the newborn, this focused on exclusive breastfeeding, affection and self-care of the child; Regarding the investigative role of nursing, mothers did not see research related to their newborn; regarding the administrative role of nursing this was somewhat disorganized. In conclusion, the perception of the mother was from regular to good, by the nursing service to the premature neonate.
