Resumen
La succión digital, es uno de los hábitos más comunes en los niños, y es uno de los más deformantes no solo a nivel bucal, sino que también afecta el estado de salud en general como su estado psicológico, el objetivo de esta investigación es identificar cuál es el tratamiento adecuado de la succión digital en niños. El método aplicado en el siguiente trabajo de investigación es de tipo analítico, ya que se realizó un análisis de los tratamientos de la succión digital en niños mediante la revisión bibliográfica de 50 artículos. La succión digital muchas veces es considerada por los padres, maestros y profesionales de la salud, como socialmente indeseable; pero nunca se debe ridiculizar al niño. Sus efectos tejidos blandos y en los dientes son los que deben considerar al realizar un diagnóstico para determinar un plan de tratamiento. Hay cambios en la posición de los dientes por la succión digital que varían dependiendo de la intensidad, duración, posición del dedo en la boca y frecuencia del hábito , de hecho, los tratamientos varían desde los procedimientos de modificación de comportamiento, monitoreo, reforzamiento positivo, uso de aparatología removible intraoral para contrarrestar el hábito o aparatología fija como los brakets y trampas linguales fijas, hasta tratamiento psicológico en algunos casos, el tratamiento más eficaz es el que hace de manera interdisciplinaria, en conjunto con el psicólogo, pediatra, odontólogo y ortodoncista, de esta manera ira enfocado en todos los aspectos que el niño necesita para dejar el hábito.
Digital suction, is one of the most common habits in children, and is one of the most deforming not only at the oral level, but also affects the overall health status as their psychological state, the aim of this research is to identify what is the appropriate treatment of digital suction in children. The method applied in the following research work is of analytical type, since an analysis of the treatments of digital suction in children was carried out by means of the bibliographical review of 50 articles. Digital suction is often considered by parents, teachers, and health professionals as socially undesirable; but the child should never be ridiculed. Its effects on soft tissue and teeth are what should be considered when making a diagnosis to determine a treatment plan. There are changes in the position of the teeth by digital suction that vary depending on the intensity, duration, position of the finger in the mouth and frequency of the habit, in fact, treatments vary from behavior modification procedures, monitoring, positive reinforcement, use of removable intraoral appliances to counteract the habit or fixed appliances such as braces and fixed tongue traps, to psychological treatment in some cases, the most effective treatment is the one that makes in an interdisciplinary way, in conjunction with the psychologist, pediatrician, dentist and orthodontist, in this way anger focused on all aspects that the child needs to leave the habit.
