Resumen
Introducción: Las consultas que brindan los odontólogos a sus pacientes en general tienen como finalidad principal el diagnóstico y tratamiento de diversas enfermedades que afectan al sistema estomatognático, sin embargo, es necesario que estén al tanto de la especialidad que estas requieren para ser atendidas. Las anomalías pueden estar relacionadas a la genética de cada individuo, es así como se vuelve cada vez más complejo tener el conocimiento necesario y preciso sobre la aplicación de estrategias y técnicas que apliquen odontólogos expertos de otros países con el objetivo que sirvan de apoyo en todas las unidades de atención odontológica de la nación. Objetivo: Determinar las principales enfermedades genéticas que originan anomalías en el sistema estomatognático. Metodología: el estudio realizado es de tipo cualitativo, descriptivo, retrospectivo y documental, la recopilación del material bibliográfico se obtuvo de bases de datos como, Medline, Dialnet, Redalyc, Medigraphic, Scielo, el 85 % de artículos seleccionados son de 5 años de antigüedad. Resultados: La falta de conocimiento en los diagnósticos de las alteraciones genéticas es un indicador del procedimiento ineficaz que se da en algunos casos a pacientes que presentan dichas anomalías, lo cual hace que tomen diferentes tratamientos y afecten a otros rasgos de su salud lo que da lugar a iatrogenias
Conclusiones: La gran mayoría de las enfermedades genéticas conocidas; afectan a diversas partes del sistema estomatognático como boca, dientes, mandíbula, lengua, paladar, labios, entre otras. Recomendaciones: El dentista debe tener suficientes conocimientos sobre los síntomas y signos que presentan los pacientes en el sistema estomatognático al momento de efectuar un diagnostico para que se pueda realizar un tratamiento eficaz y efectivo.Introduction: The consultations that dentists offer to their patients in general have as their main purpose the diagnosis and treatment of various diseases that affect the stomatognathic system, however, it is necessary that they be aware of the specialty that they require to be cared for. Results: The lack of knowledge in the diagnoses of genetic alterations is an indicator of the ineffective procedure that is given in some cases to patients who present these anomalies, which causes them to take different treatments and affect other features of their health which gives place to Conclusions: The vast majority of known genetic diseases; They affect various parts of the stomatognathic system such as the mouth, teeth, jaw, tongue, palate, lips, among others.
Recommendations: The dentist must have sufficient knowledge about the symptoms and signs that patients present in the stomatognathic system at the time of making a diagnosis so that an efficient and effective treatment can be carried out.
