The reason for this research is focused on determining the effectiveness of universal adhesives with 10-MDP regarding their bond strength to dentin. Throughout history, a great evolution has been observed in restorative dentistry, the main question about adhesives that the specialist asks is an adhesive system with fewer steps can have advantages in the effectiveness of adhesion force. The components that make up adhesives with 10-MDP are presented, these being the determinants of their action and effect when used. Adherence is the most important step in successful restorative dentistry. This work is of a quantitative type of review article type design, with a descriptive, nonexperimental, retrospective method in bibliographic and cross-sectional search. The literature used is up-to-date, with an inductive and analytical method, in this way it was possible to obtain definitions and concepts about our research topic. According to this research work, the different forms of adhesion to dentin were revealed and revalidating what is already known, that the micromechanical lock is still essential in this, but chemical adhesion is taking its way in the new systems adhesives. Universal adhesives are the new adhesive systems marketed on the market giving interesting clinical results, such as clinical speed and being stable over time, these latest generation adhesives are the new trend for generating additional chemical adhesion
