Preserving the integrity and vitality of the dental organ depends on the prevention, correct diagnosis and adequate treatment of diseases of the dentin-pulp complex. Direct pulp protection is an alternative to a more invasive treatment, which consists of placing a medication at the site of pulp exposure with suitable materials, currently bioceramics or also called bioactive materials have biological and physicochemical properties that act moist medium, being materials suitable for pulp capping. The objective is to identify the benefits of bioceramics as pulp capping. Methodology: The type of research is bibliographic since information is collected from books, magazines and scientific articles from portals such as: Google Scholar, Pubmed, Scielo, Medline and virtual library of the University of Guayaquil, in this way information is collected from observational studies descriptive, as well as clinical trials that are related to bioceramic materials used as direct pulp protection. Thanks to the information obtained from the various sources investigated. The results indicated that bioceramics or also known as bioactive materials are used in treatments to preserve pulp vitality. Various studies where compared to other pulp capping materials, bioceramics have a 93% success rate. With these results, it is concluded that bioceramics are a new alternative for the treatment of pulp capping, since they make it possible to repair tissues by imitating the physiological mechanisms of mineralization and recomposing the original mechanical properties of the tissues.
