Prevalencia sindrómica de infecciones de transmisión sexual no VIH y factores de riesgo, provincia del Guayas, periodo 2010-2012 y propuestas de medidas de prevención.

Resumen
La importancia de este estudio radica en el hecho que las infecciones de transmisión sexual al momento son consideradas como un serio problema de Salud Pública. En la Provincia del Guayas en el período 2008 se presentaron 31.691 casos confirmados ya sea por clínica o por laboratorio y en el 2011 se notificaron 99.756 con una variante de tasa de incidencia de 923,2 en el 2008 a 2836,6 en el 2011 por 100.000 habitantes. Su objetivo establecer la prevalencia sindrómica de las infecciones de transmisión sexual no VIH atendidos en las Unidades de Salud de la provincia del Guayas, durante el período 2010 y 2012 y medidas de prevención. Se realizó un diseño de investigación observacional de tipo descriptivo. Sus resultados fueron de consultas sindrómicas de infecciones de transmisión sexual no VIH con un 2.56% en el período 2010 -2012. Se indica que para el año 2012 hubo un ligero repunte en estas consultas comparado con los otros años. De acuerdo a las consultas sindrómica de infecciones de transmisión sexual no VIH, la mayor frecuencia fue vaginitis con 52,69%, seguido de otras como las micosis, tricomoniasis, molusco contagioso, pediculosis con 17,36%. La mayor prevalencia se detecta en sexo femenino con 97,91%, raza mestiza y blanca con 96,53%, y en los grupos etarios de 25 a 49 años con 48,32%, seguido del grupo de 20 a 24 años con 27,52%, y un grupo minoritario pero significativo de 15 a 19 años con un 15,12%. En cuanto al tiempo en meses de mayor consulta, hay un ligero aumento en el mes de marzo con 9,36% durante el estudio, y la diferencia entre los meses no es significativa con una variabilidad del 2,35%. Se sugiere un fortalecimiento de las actividades de promoción para evitar la transmisión de las infecciones en personas expuestas a riesgo.
