Resumen
Este trabajo presenta un sistema para la prevención de accidentes de tránsito provocado por la somnolencia y coloca de relieve las diversas medidas que se han estudiado para detectarla, tales como basados en la fisiología y las medidas basadas en el comportamiento que se sabe que reflejan el nivel de alerta del usuario. El objetivo principal es que mediante el reconocimiento facial y sin contacto en tiempo real pueda identificarla de antemano.
El proyecto se basa en una aplicación Android que utiliza la cámara del celular donde detecta la posición y el estado de los ojos y calcula el sueño del chofer. Una vez que el conductor se detecta como somnoliento, generará señales auditivas con sonidos de advertencia para alertarlo, además incluirá un sensor de proximidad para conocer si el vehículo se aproxima hacia un objeto o persona ayudando a tener mayor seguridad a la hora de conducir y evitar un accidente de tránsito. Finalmente, con el uso de un sistema GPS localizará la ubicación exacta del auto con la finalidad de enviarlo por mensaje de texto a el contacto registrado por el usuario y así salvaguardar su vida.
