Título del Proyecto: Análisis Comparativo del Sistema Tradicional de Semaforización vs
una Propuesta de Semaforización Inteligente, para la Reducción del Congestionamiento
Vehicular, en la Ciudad de Guayaquil El presente proyecto de tesis consta en un análisis comparativo entre el sistema de
semaforización actual utilizado en la ciudad de Guayaquil y un sistema propuesto de
semaforización inteligente. El sistema actual utilizado consta de semáforos que utilizan la
sincronización vía PLC en el cual en las horas pico se denota un grado alto de
congestionamiento en ciertas zonas consideradas críticas en este ámbito, según las encuestas
realizadas se alteran los tiempos de llegada, aumenta la inseguridad o lo actos delictivos
mientras transcurre la congestión, cambios en el estado de animo de las personas por estos
motivos se propuso un sistema de semaforización inteligente en la cual consistirá en la
detección del tráfico vehicular mediante sensores ubicados a lo largo de las avenidas y
disminuirá la duración estándar de cada semáforo con la finalidad de reducir tiempos de
espera para darle fluidez a la intersección.
La cantidad de agentes de tránsito en zonas críticas de congestión vehicular ha ido en
aumento a lo largo de los últimos meses, la posible implementación lograría que dichos
agentes sean redistribuidos a otras zonas y realicen otras actividades requeridas. Otro de los
aspectos a tomar en consideración de la comparativa es la del ahorro que se obtendría en
tiempos de espera, costos de implementación y el consumo energético, este último
mencionado brindaría un impacto ambiental positivo a los ciudadanos.

Another aspect to take into consideration of the comparative is the savings that would be obtained in waiting times, implementation costs and energy consumption, the latter mentioned would provide a positive environmental impact to citizens.
