The objective of the degree project was the pre-formulation of a moisturizing cream using organic ingredients, specifically peppermint hydrosol. The process followed a series of steps, including the collection, preparation, and control of the plant material. Subsequently, a steam distillation was performed to obtain the peppermint hydrosol. The extract obtained was evaluated by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) to determine the physicochemical compounds contained in the plant. Three pre-formulations were then carried out, with variations in the oily phase: F1 (20g of beeswax, 15g of shea butter, 10g of almond oil, 10g of lavender oil, 10g of coconut oil), F2 (20g of beeswax, 20g of shea butter, 15g of jojoba oil, 15g of coconut oil), and F3 (15g of beeswax, 15g of shea butter, 5g of jojoba oil, 5g of coconut oil, 10g of almond oil). Quality control of the ideal formulation was then conducted, evaluating organoleptic, physical, and chemical parameters. Finally, the packaging and labeling were completed, all in compliance with relevant national and international regulations such as the FDA, NTE INEN 2867, and COLIPA.
