- ÍtemAcceso AbiertoUse of intonation patterns to improve the spoken discourse(Universidad de Guayaquil. Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2020-06) Morante Moreira, Katherine Cecibel; Sánchez Recillo, Wendy Lissette; Pablo Espinoza, JuanIntonation allows reflecting differences in the meaning, intentions, and emotions of the speaker. It also allows transmitting feelings and reactions through variations in the tone of voice. Within this context, this research, which was carried out at Unidad Educativa Fiscal Mixta Dr. Teodoro Alvarado in 2019, aimed to analyze bibliographic material related to the different intonation patterns and spoken discourse in order to define the variables of the study and design of a booklet with audiolingual exercises using intonation patterns. The design of this research was mixed. The types of research used were Basic, non-experimental, descriptive, and bibliographic. Three methods contributed to this study: Observation, documentary analysis, and systematic search. The techniques to collect information were observation, a survey, and a questionnaire. Data were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. This research process allowed to design an educational proposal that included theoretical and practical aspects of intonation so that students could practice them and produce them with the teacher or autonomously. It is recommended to explore the benefits of intonation from other perspectives, such as its impact on the meaning or attitude of the speaker
