It requires the ability to decode words and sentences, as well as to comprehend the meaning of the text. Reading is a vital skill for communicating, learning, and understanding information. The observation was made to students of the eight-grade of the Clemente Yerovi Indaburu Fiscal Educational Unit; applying research instruments such as teachers and students questionnaires. The data obtained from the analysis process determined a lack of motivation and developing of reading skills in English. The modality will be of mixed character, combining the funcionalities of the quantitative character and of the qualitative character. The conclusion and recommendations obtained were analyzed through the results. It is tested through a hypothesis that stories and fables improve reading skills, consequently developing a booklet containing short tales and fables to improve reading skills in the English language.

It is a strategy when a teacher teaches students an acronym to remember each step in writing. The PLEASE strategy will help students write, start the first sentence, and put the data information into their writing. This research will be designed descriptively and analytically on the effectiveness of the PLEASE strategy to teach writing to students at the A2.1 level, students in the ninth year of the International School will be taken as the study population, where a survey will be carried out. and post to the PLEASE strategy. With these data, the effectiveness ofthe said strategy will be analyzed, to fulfill the research proposal, projected in the elaboration of a didactic guide with this technique to improve the students' writing.

Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2022-09) Guerrero Chica, Dolly Lisbeth; Merchán Moreno, Allen Rubén; Bermúdez Rugel, Luis HumbertoLooking forward to improving vocabulary acquisition when learning English as a foreign language, the objective of this research project is to use the game Pictionary as a strategy to acquire new vocabulary, becoming the process of learning enjoyable for eighth grade students of the Escuela de Educación Básica particular “Juan XXIII” in the school year 2022 - 2023. The difficulties shown by these students demonstrated that acquiring a new lexicon turned repetitive and mechanical but exciting for them, making the strategy change a necessity to develop this skill. The research project mentioned was carried out through instruments such as interviews with the teachers and surveys with the students, as well as a field, bibliographic and statistical research to collect all the information needed. These quantitative and qualitative instruments settled the students' level concerning retaining new knowledge as a lexicon. The variables of the problem established were analyzed strictly, evidencing the requirements needed for the students and developing a structured formulation of the historical background.

Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2022-09) Orejuela Quiñonez, Ana Paula; Bermúdez Rugel, Luis HumbertoDoing research analyzed the result of the shortcomings and needs of students of level B1.1 in the respective academic development in reading texts in the Classes of English at the higher level. The main problem in this project is the lack of skills to develop relevant reading activities at this educational level. Through self-taught digital methodologies and resources, the objective was to improve students' analysis skills and reading comprehension of texts in English. This project had as a reference methodological alternative based on reading activities and written production, using literary resources through digital platforms that help potential the skills required in the learning process, thus complementing their academic education. Conclude that the deficit in developing comprehensive reading skills is mainly based on ignorance of methodological structures when reading academically. It is one of the most significant problems among students’ higher homework. His research offers different methodological facilities that aim to develop students' comprehensive skills and literary analysis. As the main recommendation, the complementary use of comprehensive reading platforms or analysis activities is suggested to obtain a better development of skills in students in a self-taught and complete way.

Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2022-09) Cangá Mora, Steeven Fernando; Bermúdez Rugel, Luis HumbertoThe purpose of this work is to establish the use of social networks and digital platforms as a tool for learning English in eighth grade students of the "Nobel" educational unit during the 2022-2023 school year. The modality used is of a mixed nature, making use of qualitative and quantitative instruments. According to the results of this research, it is possible to notice that students are interested in intrinsic learning through social networks in such a way that 72% of the students who applied English learning in contribution with social networks and websites are able to learn effectively since they integrated digital social network platforms for their benefit. In addition to this, they also lack grammatical structure, preventing them from advancing their ability to write or compose texts.
