By integrating musical elements and dynamic techniques, we intend to improve students’ comprehension and understanding of English. To gather data and insights, we will employ a combination of quantitative and qualitative research methods, including interviews with a group of students. These interviews will help us understand how the use of musical activities in English captures students’ attention and promotes an enjoyable learning environment in the classroom. Our ultimate goal is to support the development of students’ language skills.

Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2024-02) Andrade Mendoza , Katherine Solange; Rivera Muñoz , Dennisse Xiomara; Bermudes, LuisThis research project faces the problematic lack of listening comprehension in A.1.1 level students and how the English language is difficult for them because of the inexistence of a proper English environment and how new technology can be used to improve it. This project aims to introduce and analyze the influence of podcasts as a new tool for studying the English language because this audio content may focus on real context and daily life situations, which allows students to get used to phonetics. Podcasts are now very popular among new generations and can be used to reinforce extrinsic and intrinsic motivation in students to develop the English language. These authentic materials may be used to explore different topics and to promote independent learners. This research also proposes a booklet based on the “Ministry of Ecuadorian Education” content and vocabulary, to use as a guide to complement the listening process with pre-listening, during-listening, and post-listening activities for A.1.1 level students to improve the understanding, decoding of message and increase the level of students’ performance.

Facultad de Filosofía, Letras y Ciencias de la Educación, 2024-02) Cabrera Ríos , Génesis Jamel; Rodríguez Alvarado , Génesis Paola; Bermudes, LuisThe principal objective of this research project is to carry out the effectiveness of vocabulary learning strategies through surveys, interviews, and statistics in order to design a teaching guide using pictures and flashcards. This project intends to highlight the importance of visual aids as teaching tools to enhance vocabulary acquisition in A1.1 level learners, through this resource, pupils can have better retention with a dynamic and effective learning process. The ability to learn a new language quickly is essential as the world becomes more interactive. This research makes an important contribution to the current discourse on language teaching and offers useful tactics for supporting A1.1 learners in their language learning. The purpose of this research is to design a didactic guide to use visual aids to teach new vocabulary to the a1.1 level, it supports the increase in a positive way the learning of the students. Pupils will be able to retain new vocabulary words in a didactic and precise way that they can use day by day.
