One of the most common problems in dentistry is how little attention is given to patients with a history of heart disease and the care that must have before, during and after the dental intervention. In a study on the risk assessment according to Chandler shows that one third of patients attending for the first time to a university dental clinic expressed interest medical history of hypertension being the most frequent with 13.8 %; It cannot be ruled out in patients with mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation that being a common pathology, at the time of any intervention as dental endodontics we can spread an infection that arrives to the endocardium causing bacterial endocarditis. The goal of this research is to determine the factors that affect the management of patients with heart disease who require endodontic treatment and design a protocol for the care of and does not affect the general health and provide proper care to the patient. The research is descriptive and experimental already that would be made in the Integral Clinic at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Guayaquil, applying the protocol in a patient with mitral valve prolapse with regurgitation, with positive results before, during and after the endodontic therapy.
