Conocimiento y práctica de las medidas de bioseguridad de los odontólogos de las provincias de Napo y Pastaza

Resumen
La Bioseguridad se ha convertido en un medio de defensa que
debe ser actualizado periódicamente para evitar futuras
infecciones a nosotros y a su vez que estas infecciones se
puedan transmitir a personas cercanas a nuestro medio.
Desde el punto de vista de posibilidad de contagio por un
agente infeccioso, la enfermedad que más debe preocupar a la
profesión odontológica es la infección por el virus de la
hepatitis B, se estima que en el mundo hay más de 200
millones de portadores asintomático con este virus, existiendo
varios informes de odontólogos y técnicos de laboratorio que
han sido infectados por el contacto con material
contaminado. Así está comprobado que varios casos de
infecciones en el personal de salud han ocurrido por contacto
accidental con sangre o material contaminado con este virus.
A través de este estudio se busca indagar acerca de la
aplicación y conocimientos de las medidas de bioseguridad
en las provincias de Napo y Pastaza.
