Resumen
El presente trabajo investigativo tiene como objetivo principal “Evaluar la
situación ambiental del sistema de tratamiento de las aguas residuales de la ciudad de Portoviejo en el
sitio las Piedras de Picoazá”.
Esta investigación se llevó a cabo en varios periodos: desde Julio hasta
diciembre del 2011 y se actualizaron a mayo del 2020.
Sirvió como documento guía el Plan de ordenamiento territorial del
gobierno autónomo descentralizado de cantón Portoviejo.
La investigación estuvo apoyada en estudios descriptivos sobre diferentes
teorías relacionadas con el tema, lo que permitió enriquecer el marco teórico referencial, el mismo que
se basó en la contaminación de los ríos en general, en la contaminación del Río Portoviejo por las
descargas del agua tratada de la PTAR y acciones encaminadas a preservarlo y se hace énfasis en los
efectos de la contaminación del Río Portoviejo en la salud de los habitantes de la parroquia Picoazá y
las principales enfermedades causadas por la contaminación del río. La metodología utilizada fue de
tipo cualitativa y cuantitativa, la cual se apoya en métodos, técnicas e instrumentos. Se encuesto a 101
habitantes del sitio antes mencionado De igual manera, se realizaron entrevistas a autoridades
representativas del sector y la observación, que permitió apreciar la conducta de los agentes
contaminantes y el grado de responsabilidad en la causa del problema. De acuerdo a los últimos
análisis de mes de mayo del presente año, la PTAR si cumple con, los límites máximos permisibles, ya
que no se exceden de estos.
The main objective of this research work is "To evaluate the environmental situation of the wastewater treatment system of the city of Portoviejo on the Site the Piedras de Picoazá". This research was conducted in several periods: from July to December 2011 and updated to May 2020. It served as a guide document the Territorial Planning Plan of the decentralized autonomous government of the canton of Portoviejo. The research was supported by descriptive studies on different theories related to the subject, which allowed to enrich the theoretical framework of reference, the same one that was based on the pollution of rivers in general, on the pollution of the Portoviejo River by the discharges of the treated water of the PTAR and actions aimed at preserving it and emphasizes the effects of pollution of the Portoviejo River on the health of the inhabitants of the parish main diseases caused by river pollution. The methodology used was qualitative and quantitative, which is based on methods, techniques and instruments. 101 inhabitants of the aforementioned site were surveyed in the same way, interviews were conducted with representative authorities of the sector and observation, which allowed to appreciate the conduct of the pollutants and the degree of responsibility for the cause of the problem. According to the latest analysis in May this year, the PTAR if it meets, the maximum permissible limits, as they do not exceed these.
