Análisis de Erosión Lateral en la Banca de un Meandro en el Río Balao ubicado en el Recinto “La Libertad”, Cantón Balao, Provincia del Guayas.

Resumen
La presente investigación se enfoca en realizar un análisis de erosión lateral, dado en un meandro del río Balao ubicado en el recinto Libertad, en la cual ha ocurrido inundaciones debido al desbordamiento del cauce en épocas de invierno. Mediante la realización de ensayos (granulometría - gravedad específica) y modelado en software HEC-RAS, se ha simulado diversos escenarios de caudal y transporte de sedimentos, obteniendo así la profundidad hidráulica. Una vez obtenido la profundidad, se efectuarán los respectivos cálculos para determinar cuál es la zona crítica. Por medio de los resultados y simulaciones se concluyó que la zona es propensa a inundaciones. Por lo cual, se recomienda la construcción de un enrocado de protección, o la continuidad del muro de escollera situado en la zona, de igual forma se recomienda la limpieza del cauce y desazolvé de material para que el flujo no tenga altos incrementos y así prevenir inundaciones.
The present research focuses on the analysis of lateral erosion, given in a meander of the Balao River located in the Libertad precinct, where flooding has occurred due to the overflowing of the riverbed during the winter season. By means of tests (granulometry - specific gravity) and modeling in HEC-RAS software, several flow and sediment transport scenarios were simulated, thus obtaining the hydraulic depth. Once the depth has been obtained, the respective calculations will be carried out to determine the critical zone. From the results and simulations, it was concluded that the area is prone to flooding. Therefore, the construction of a protective rockfill or the continuity of the breakwater wall located in the area is recommended, as well as the cleaning of the channel and the clearing of material so that the flow does not have high increases and thus prevent flooding.
