estenosis coronaria significativa, 27 pacientes presentaron poca probabilidad y
25 pacientes baja probabilidad.
The coronary artery calcium score plays an important role in cardiovascular risk stratification, showing a significant association with the occurrence of major cardiovascular events in the medium or long term. The following will be discussed: protocols for acquisition and quantification of coronary artery calcium score by multidetector computed tomography; the role of the coronary artery calcium score in coronary risk stratification and its comparison with other clinical scores; its indications, interpretation and prognosis in asymptomatic patients; and its use in symptomatic patients. The objective will be to analyze the usefulness of the calcium T score in the diagnosis of coronary ischemic heart disease. The research design will be quantitative. The study sample consisted of 200 patients, place of the study Hospital Teodoro Maldonado Carbo, located in the city of Guayaquil Av.25 de Julio, whose research period will be January 2019 to December 2021. Calcifications of the coronary vessels were detected in 62 patients, at level 4, with moderate-high cardiovascular risk and high probability of coronary disease. With a minimal or slight probability of coronary stenosis 49 patients. There were 37 patients with a high probability of significant coronary stenosis, 27 patients with a low probability and 25 patients with a low probability. They concluded that a higher coronary calcium score suggests that you have a higher chance of significant narrowing of the coronary arteries and a higher risk of having a heart attack in the future.
