| dc.description.abstract | Los dientes supernumerarios son aquellos que están presentes en exceso a nivel de los maxilares y han sido considerados una de las más importantes anomalías dentales que afectan tanto la dentición primaria como en la permanente, siendo más frecuente su aparición en esta última. Suelen representar una gran preocupación para el odontólogo y los familiares del paciente, ya que pueden causar retardo en la erupción y por ende problemas funcionales y estéticos. Objetivo: Describir la incidencia de casos clínicos de pacientes con dientes supernumerarios asociados con diversos síndromes en la ciudad de Guayaquil. Metodología: La presente investigación es de tipo descriptiva, observacional y bibliográfica, obteniendo artículos científicos de plataformas como: Pubmed, Lilacs, Science Direct, Cochrane Library, Web of Science. Resultados: De la recopilación de los resultados de trabajos bibliográficos que la prevalencia a nivel de la población en general es entre 1 al 3%, en cuanto al número tenemos que la frecuencia de presentación es del 76% para los dientes únicos, de 12 a 23% para los dientes dobles y del 1% para los múltiples; en cuanto a la predisposición hacia algún sexo en específico, tiene un mayor predominio en el sexo masculino, el desarrollo de este tipo de dentadura es cinco veces menos frecuente en una dentición decidua respecto a una permanente 90% de los dientes supernumerarios asientan sobre el maxilar. Conclusiones: El comportamiento clínico y epidemiológico de los dientes supernumerarios denotaron ser frecuentes en la población masculina, en cuanto a número predomina la forma única antes que la múltiple, de localización en maxilar superior, en cuanto a la morfología son más frecuentes los eumorficos. | es_ES |
| dc.description.abstract | Supernumerary teeth are those that are present in excess at the level of the jaws and have been considered one of the most important dental anomalies that affect both the primary and permanent dentition, being more frequent in the latter. They usually represent a great concern for the dentist and the patient's relatives, since they can cause a delay in the eruption and therefore functional and aesthetic problems. Objective: To describe the incidence of clinical cases of patients with supernumerary teeth associated with various syndromes in the city of Guayaquil. Methodology: This research is descriptive, observational and bibliographic, obtaining scientific articles from platforms such as: Pubmed, Lilacs, Science Direct, Cochrane Library, Web of Science. Results: From the compilation of the results of bibliographic studies that the prevalence at the level of the general population is between 1 to 3%, in terms of the number we have that the frequency of presentation is 76% for single teeth, from 12 to 23% for double teeth and 1% for multiple teeth; Regarding the predisposition towards a specific sex, it is more prevalent in the male sex, the development of this type of teeth is five times less frequent in a deciduous dentition compared to a permanent one 90% of supernumerary teeth sit on the maxilla .
