Prospección geofísica para la determinación de agua subterránea en el sector "Paraíso 2" del recinto Cochancay, cantón La Troncal, provincia de Cañar, Ecuador

Resumen
El presente trabajo de titulación corresponde al desarrollo de una campaña de prospección geofísica para la búsqueda de agua subterránea en el sector ‘‘Paraíso 2”, Recinto Cochancay - Cantón La troncal; los estudios se realizaron mediante Sondeos Eléctricos Verticales (SEV) - Configuración Wenner. En el levantamiento geológico del área se identificó tres tipos de rocas: a) Corneanas - rocas metamórficas de contacto de bajo grado. b) Rocas ígneas efusivas (lavas) pertenecientes a la formación Pallatanga, c) Depósitos aluviales en la parte baja de la cordillera occidental. Se realizó el balance hidrológico local desde el año 2000 al 2015 demostrando que en los meses febrero a mayo existe un excedente hídrico de importancia y de junio a diciembre presentan un déficit hídrico. Referente a los SEV se realizaron 8 en total, dando como resultado que el SEV 1- SEV 2 y SEV 6, presentan mayor evidencia de reserva de agua subterránea.
The present study corresponds to the development of a geophysical exploration campaign for groundwater search in the ‘‘Paraiso 2” area, Recinto Cochancay – Canton La Troncal. Data was collected using Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) - Wenner Configuration. Based on the geophysical survey of the area, three rock types were identified: a) Hornfels - low-grade metamorphic contact rocks. b) Effusive igneous rocks (lavas) belonging to the Pallatanga Formation, c) Alluvial deposits in the lower part of the western mountain range. The local hydrological balance was conducted from 2000 to 2015 showing that from February to May there is a significant water surplus, whereas from June to December there is a water deficit. Regarding the VESs, 8 were carried out in total, resulting in SEV 1- SEV 2 and SEV 6 with greater evidence of groundwater reserve.
