dc.description.abstractEl COVID-19 ha sido el tema que más prevalencia ha tenido el mundo en los últimos años. Hasta lo que va de este año se continúa en “pandemia” y a pesar de que cada vez se conoce más de este virus y de que ya existen vacunas para combatirlo, nuevas variantes del mismo afloran y miles de personas siguen contagiándose. El presente trabajo, estudia la incidencia del virus del COVID-19 en una determinada muestra de la ciudad de Riobamba-Ecuador. Para lograrlo se utilizaron los datos positivos de pacientes que hayan contraído el virus según las pruebas de Anticuerpo Cuantitativo y Antígeno SARS-CoV-2 que realizaba el CIMIC (Centro de Investigación Microbiológica) en el período de junio 2020/junio 2021; obteniendo como resultado, una incidencia relativamente baja. En este estudio, se pudo establecer una relación entre edad-sexo en los pacientes contagiados; siendo así las personas del sexo masculino, especialmente los adultos jóvenes (30-39 años), quiénes más se contagiaron. Cabe recalcar que existe cierto de grado de confiabilidad en el tipo de pruebas que se realiza para detectar el virus del SARS-CoV-2, debido a esto es necesario saber que prueba se debe llevar a cabo según las necesidades que se requieran; en este caso, un estudio epidemiológico es el fundamento de esta investigación.es_ES
dc.description.abstractCOVID-19 has been the most prevalent issue in the world in recent years. So far this year the “pandemic” continues and despite the fact that more and more is known about this virus and that there are already vaccines to combat it, new variants of it are emerging and thousands of people continue to be infected. This work studies the incidence of the COVID-19 virus in a specific sample from the city of Riobamba-Ecuador. To achieve this, the positive data of patients who had contracted the virus according to the Quantitative Antibody and SARS-CoV-2 Antigen tests carried out by the CIMIC (Center for Microbiological Research) in the period of June 2020 / June 2021 were used; obtaining as a result, a relatively low incidence. In this study, it was possible to establish an age-sex relationship in infected patients; being thus the masculine sex, especially the young adults (30-39 years), who more were infected. It should be noted that there is a certain degree of reliability in the type of tests that are carried out to detect the SARS- CoV-2 virus, due to this it is necessary to know which test should be carried out according to the needs that are required; in this case, an epidemiological study is the foundation of this researches_ES
