Resumen
El desarrollo de este Proyecto de investigación va direccionado al análisis del sector
farmacéutico ecuatoriano y su aporte al crecimiento económico del Ecuador en el período
2010-2020, para lo cual, es importante describir las teorías respecto al crecimiento
económico y el aporte del sector farmacéutico, así como realizar el análisis de la evolución
del sector farmacéutico en los últimos 10 años, determinar la participación del sector en la
industria manufacturera y en el PIB nacional, al ser uno de los sectores que dinamizan la
economía, se pretenden establecer los factores que inciden en su crecimiento. Se aplica
una metodología de investigación de tipo descriptiva de diseño no experimental de estudio
longitudinal a través de la recolección de información documental para el levantamiento
de la información estadística, las cuales fueron tomadas del Banco Central del Ecuador,
Corporación Financiera Nacional, Servicio de Rentas Internas, entre otras. La industria
farmacéutica forma parte del sector manufacturero, pero también está inmersa en la
cadena de la I+D, constituyéndose en un sector dinámico que aporta sustancialmente al
crecimiento económico del país. Los resultados obtenidos del análisis del sector
farmacéutico ecuatoriano, develan que durante los años objetivo de estudio el aporte
dentro de la economía ecuatoriana se ha ido consolidando, promoviendo la industria, la
productividad, el desarrollo tecnológico, la vinculación de capital humano, sin embargo, se
presenta un factor negativo, esto es la dependencia del sector de las importaciones, las
cuales son altas y sobrepasan a sus exportaciones, generando una balanza comercial
deficitaria.
The development of this research project is directed to the analysis of the competitiveness of the Ecuadorian pharmaceutical sector and its contribution to the economic growth of the sector for the period 2010-2020, for which a study of pharmaceutical companies was carried out from their productivity, marketing, income, sales, tax contributions, employment generation, the relationship with the national GDP and the manufacturing sector, technological innovation and investment projects that are executed in the pharmaceutical industry to strengthen economic growth in the sector. A descriptive methodology of non-experimental design of a longitudinal study has been implemented through the collection of documentary information for the collection of statistical information, which were taken from the Central Bank, the National Financial Corporation, SRI, among others. The pharmaceutical industry is part of the manufacturing sector, but it is also immersed in the R&D chain, becoming a dynamic sector that contributes substantially to national economic growth.
