dc.description.abstract	Debido al incremento de la población adulta mayor en Ecuador se realizan estudios científicos desde diferentes disciplinas. El presente estudio planteo determinar los tipos de soledad y la autoestima en adultos mayores. La metodología fue cuantitativa de tipo descriptivo, con corte transversal no experimental, la muestra fue de tipo no probabilística, de selección intencional, se conformó por 65 adultos mayores beneficiarios de la Fundación “NURTAC”, bajo la modalidad de atención domiciliaria en Durán. En los resultados, sociodemográficamente se evidenció prevalencia en la ausencia de pareja, pero conviven con otros familiares, estudios incompletos de educación primaria y escasa realización de actividades productivas. En cuanto a los tipos de soledad, existe predominio del nivel alto en el área conyugal, sin embargo, a nivel familiar y social un nivel medio. Por su parte, la muestra presenta no tener dificultades significativas en la autoestima, su tendencia puntúa un nivel medio. La fiabilidad de este estudio bajo el Alfa de Cronbach marca 0,838	es_ES
dc.description.abstract	Due to the increase of the older adult population in Ecuador, scientific studies are carried out from different disciplines. The present study proposed to determine the types of loneliness and self-esteem in older adults. The methodology was quantitative of a descriptive type, with a non-experimental cross-section, the sample was of a non-probabilistic type, of intentional selection, and was composed of 65 elderly beneficiaries of the “NURTAC” Foundation, under the modality of home care in Durán. In the results, sociodemographic evidence showed prevalence in the absence of a partner, but they coexisted with other relatives, incomplete studies of primary education and scarce performance of productive activities. As for the types of solitude, there is a predominance of the high level in the conjugal area, however, at the family and social level, a medium level. For its part, the sample presents no significant difficulties in self-esteem, its tendency points to a medium level. The reliability of this study under Cronbach's Alpha scores 0,838	es_ES
