Resumen
El Centro de Ciencias Forenses se entiende como el conjunto estructurado y sistematizado de conocimientos, de carácter técnico y científico, generados por la investigación y análisis de los indicios de un hecho presuntamente delictivo, con la finalidad de presentar estos resultados a la autoridad jurídica correspondiente y coadyuvar en la prevención del delito y, en la procuración y administración de justicia. Su estudio incluye disciplinas como: Psiquiatría, Estomatología, Antropología, Entomología, Toxicología, Psicología y Química Forenses, Medicina Legal, Criminología, Criminalística y Derecho, entre otras. Estas disciplinas contribuyen a procuración y administración de justicia por medio de la identificación, ubicación, fijación, levantamiento, embalaje, etiquetado, traslado, estudio y análisis del material sensible significativo hallado en el lugar de los hechos, relacionado o no con el hecho que se investiga, cumpliendo con la cadena de custodia, sea en averiguaciones previas o en juicios de carácter penal o civil dentro de la región de responsabilidad del Valle del Quijos y, por ende facilitar los requerimientos técnico, científico y legal para los diferentes casos que requieran ser estudios por la ciencia forense.

The Centre of Forensic Sciences is understood as the structured and systematic body of knowledge, technical and scientific, generated by research and analysis of evidence of a criminal offense, in order to present these results to the appropriate legal authority and assist in crime prevention and in the enforcement and administration of justice. Their study includes disciplines such as psychiatry, dentistry, anthropology, entomology, toxicology, Chemical and Forensic Psychology, Forensic Medicine, Criminology, Criminology and Law, among others. These disciplines contribute to enforcement and administration of justice by identifying, locating, locking, lifting, packaging, labeling, transportation, study and analysis of significant sensitive material found at the scene, related or not with the fact that investigating, provided the chain of custody, whether in preliminary investigations or trials of criminal or civil within the region of responsibility of Valle del Quijos character and thus facilitate and technical requirements, scientific legal for different cases that require forensic science studies.
