ANÁLISIS Y MEJORA DE LA RED WLAN DE LA FACULTAD DE CIENCIAS MÉDICAS DE LA UNIVERSIDAD DE GUAYAQUIL

Resumen
La finalidad de este proyecto es analizar el estado actual de la red
inalámbrica para determinar los requerimientos de esta y aplicar un plan de
mejoras que permita adecuar el funcionamiento de dicha red, para que
brinde un servicio que cubra las necesidades de conectividad en las áreas
que más lo requieran, esto se llevara a cabo utilizando los equipos que la
facultad de Ciencias Médicas provea y las obras serán aplicadas en 7 de los
9 edificios que conforman. Las adecuaciones aplicadas en la red inalámbrica
van desde el análisis previo que permita conocer las necesidades y
problemas que llegasen a existir dentro de la Wlan, el diseño lógico de la red,
la configuración, instalación o reubicación de equipos de comunicación
inalámbrica que disponga dicha facultad hasta llegar a realizar un aumento
de ancho de banda disponible para la red y limitando el ancho de banda que
puede utilizar cada usuario que accede a la red, todo estos ajustes se
realizan en base a análisis previamente realizados. Luego de haber
realizado la implementación de mejoras se realizaron pruebas para
determinar si los ajustes realizados eran favorables para el desempeño de la
red, determinar la cantidad de usuario que accede a la red, calidad de la
recepción de señal en áreas donde se instalaron puntos de acceso y el
consumo del ancho de banda del enlace para el acceso a internet. Las
mejoras realizas lograron mejorar la cobertura de la red Wlan y permitieron
proveer de servicio en área donde se presidia de está brindando acceso
internet a un mayor número de usuarios de esta facultad, aunque aún existen
necesidades dentro de esta red Wlan que van más allá de los alcances de
este proyecto.
The scope of this project is to analyze the present status of the wireless network to determine the requirements and to implement a plan for improving which allows to apply the operation of the network, which provide a service with an excellent connectivity in the areas where are the most important on it, this will be carried out using equipment where the Faculty of science medical supply and works will be implemented in 7 of the 9 buildings comprising. Adjustments applied in wireless network range from the previous analysis that allows to satisfy the requirements and problems that the Wlan gotten, the logical network design, configuration, installation or resettling of equipment of wireless communication that the faculty has to make an increase in available network bandwidth and to limit the bandwidth that can be used by each user who access the network all these settings are performed on the basis of analysis previously done. After the implementation of improvements were tested to determine if the settings were favorable for the performance of the network, to determine the number of users who access the network, quality of signal reception in areas where settled points of access and consumption of the bandwidth of the link for access to the internet. The improvements were able to improve the coverage of the WLAN and allowed to provide service in the area where relocated for providing Internet access to a greater number of users of this option, although there are still requirements in this WLAN that get beyond the scope of this project.
