The following research work was carried out at km 48 via Duran - Tambo at "Vainillo" research center, which belongs to the Agriculture Sciences School of Universidad de Guayaquil, Guayas province. The geographic coordinates are: 2°15'15 "south latitude and 73°38'40" west longitude. The general objective was to evaluate the best planting distances with three maize hybrids (Zea mays L). The specific objectives were: a) to determine the results of the three planting distances in three maize hybrids. B) To carry out an economic analysis of the treatments. It was performed with three maize hybrids Dekalb 1595, Dekalb 1040 and Dekalb 5005; with three planting distances (0.80 x 0.25) m, (0.80 x 0.30) m and (0.80 x 0.35) m, whose combinations resulted in nine treatments and four replications. The fully randomized block design (DBCA) with 3 x 3 factorial arrangement and four replications was used. The Duncan multiple range test with 5% probability was applied for the comparison of the means. A total of six variables were studied. It was concluded that: a) Hybrid dekalb 1596 presented the best averages in terms of agronomic characteristics in the variables of cob insertion height, cob diameter, yield in grams per square meter and yield in kilograms per hectare. B) The best sowing distance was obtained with the measurement of 0.80 m. X 0.25 m. in all the agronomic variables under study, allowing us to obtain greater vigor plants leading to the best and highest yield. C) Treatment one (H1D1) (0.80m x 0.25m) proved to be the most profitable of them all.
