Resumen
Si hay dos pilares fundamentales en el desarrollo de una persona en sus primeros
años de vida esos son la escuela y la familia. Y en el caso de las personas con
discapacidad intelectual más aún. El objetivo principal del presente trabajo de
investigación fue propiciar el desarrollo de las habilidades sociales en los usuarios
con discapacidad intelectual moderada entre las edades de 17 a 24 años del Centro
Diurno de Desarrollo Integral para Personas con Discapacidad de la ciudad de
Guayaquil para optimizar su calidad de vida.
El Centro Diurno de Desarrollo Integral para Personas con Discapacidad está
ubicado geográficamente al sur de la ciudad de Guayaquil, en las avenidas 25 de
Julio y Pio Jaramillo. Las prácticas pre profesionales fueron desarrolladas durante
los meses de agosto a diciembre del 2016.
El tipo de investigación fue cualitativa no experimental. Los métodos utilizados
fueron el inductivo, observación y de acción participativa. Los instrumentos la Guía
Portaje de Educación Escolar, test psicométricos, test de personalidad, entrevistas,
encuestas, cuestionarios y observación directa.
Para el proceso de investigación se plantearon objetivos específicos como
Identificar los factores determinantes del déficit en habilidades sociales de las
personas con discapacidad intelectual moderada, elaborar pautas de intervención
para el aprendizaje y desarrollo de habilidades que mejoren las relaciones
interpersonales y promover que los individuos con discapacidad intelectual
participen y sean incluidos y respetados por la colectividad
