Resumen
El objetivo principal de este proyecto de tesis es realizar una repotenciación y automatización del secador de túnel didáctico de Operaciones Unitarias de la Facultad de Ingeniería Química para la deshidratación de alimentos sólidos. El equipo está diseñado y construido inicialmente para una operación por lotes, medición manual de temperatura, presión, pérdida de humedad, con un motor monofásico de ½ HP a 110V. En el trabajo de repotenciación del secador se realizaron cambios de materiales y partes del equipo que no estaban en condiciones adecuadas de uso, permitiendo alargar la vida útil del mismo; por otro lado, en la automatización se implementaron medidores de temperatura y humedad digitales, además de un PLC que permitirá tener un proceso más estable con los parámetros fundamentales controlados para un mejor proceso de secado. Además, se realizaron pruebas experimentales para validar el funcionamiento del equipo, obteniendo parámetros de temperatura constantes, buena pérdida de humedad en el material, cumpliendo con los objetivos propuestos.
The main objective of this thesis project is to perform a repowering and automation of the teaching tunnel dryer of unitary operations of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering for the dehydration of solid foods. The equipment is designed and built initially for batch operation, manual temperature measurement, pressure, moisture loss, with a single-phase motor from ½ HP to 110v. In the work of repowering the dryer changes were made to materials and parts of the equipment that were not in proper conditions of use, allowing to extend the useful life of the same; On the other hand, in the automation, digital temperature and humidity meters were implemented, as well as a PLC that will allow a more stable process with the controlled fundamental parameters for a better drying process. In addition, experimental tests were performed to validate the operation of the equipment, obtaining constant temperature parameters, good moisture loss in the material, fulfilling the proposed objectives.
