The eruption of deciduous and permanent teeth is performed according determined and at certain intervals of time sequence. If produces a pathological delay should be investigated if there agenesis tooth or the presence of any reason that causes the retention of their eruption. Retained those teeth are called once the arrival time normal eruption and have failed to remain within the jaws, maintaining the integrity of your pericoronal sack. Currently it is called Tooth Retention Syndrome to be characterized by a set of changes , and the absence of tooth in the oral cavity. Tooth eruption is a physiological process that can be altered by multiple congenital or environmental causes . It can occur in two ways: when the tooth is intraosseous surrounded by bone tissue , and subgingival when covered by mucosa gingival . There are variations in the prevalence and distribution of them in the different regions of the jaws , constituting the third molars and the upper canines , the teeth most frequently are retained , occurring most often in the population adolescents and young adults without preference for sex or racial type . With the development of Rx devices are available the means necessary to discover an impacted tooth and thus perform the most suitable type of treatment , and therefore carries a diagnosis clinical and radiographic examination and treatment is usually surgical or surgical - orthodontic.
