Resumen
Siendo el SN (numero estructural), un numero abstracto que representa la resistencia de la estructura del pavimento flexible en condiciones de carga, suelo, factores ambiental y demás parámetros que inciden en el diseño de un pavimento flexible, los cuales se los utiliza para verificar la calidad de los materiales, estos deben ser sometidos a ensayos para que cumplan con las normas especificadas ya que al no ser el material adecuado la estructura de pavimento no estaría en capacidad de soportar las cargas consideradas en el diseño.
Entre estos parámetros tenemos el número estructural, siendo importante y necesario en los diferentes métodos; que,
por correlación podemos obtener los diferentes valores que se necesitan para el diseño de pavimento.
Recordemos que el diseño de una vía debe basarse entre otras informaciones, en los datos sobre tráfico existente, especialmente su composición, siendo que estos valores inciden directamente a las características geométrica de la vía, con esta finalidad se realizó un aforo vehicular de la vía Mariscal Sucre – Simón Bolívar, del cual entre otras cosas se determinó los ejes equivalentes y a partir de ellos el numero estructural que soportara las cargas exigidas por el tráfico.
Una vez evaluado el número estructural para cada una de las capas que conforman la estructura de pavimento, se aplicó al diseño de la vía que une los cantones Mariscal Sucre – Simón Bolívar.
