Transmissible venereal tumor (TVT) is described as a neoplasm that can present both genital and extragenital, which in the worst case evolves and produces metastasis within the animal. The objective of the present investigation was to determine the prevalence of TVT in the canines treated in the veterinary carps of the Durán GAD in the period from May to July of 2018, finding 22,12% of positive cases to TVT, corresponding to 25 dogs attended and 88 cases negative ones that represent 77,88%. This non-experimental, observational research allowed us to relate the positive cases with the variables sex, age, race, possession, location of the tumor and sector, determined that the males are the most frequently affected, Then the age in which the most observed TVT is frequently between 1 and 6 years old and access to the street is a more predisposing factor. After observing these results, it is recommended that they should have more control of stray dogs as they become transmitters of the disease and the owners have more control over access to the street of their pets.
