Resumen
Es la enfermedad crónica con mayor prevalencia en la edad pediátrica, con elevada morbilidad. Es una causa importante de uso de servicios hospitalarios, siendo la principal causa de hospitalizaciones por enfermedad crónica en la infancia, y responsable de un elevado coste socio-sanitario. (1)
El propósito de la investigación es analizarlas crisis asmáticas utilizando la escala de Downes, en pacientes del Hospital universitario de Guayaquil periodo 2014-2015, de esta manera se espera actualizar información de esta patología de gran demanda en el hospital y proporcionar recomendaciones que sirvan para elaborar estrategias de prevención de complicaciones y minimizar el impacto negativo de esta patología.
A través de un estudio descriptivo, transversal y retrospectivo, se analizará las frecuencias y complicaciones de la crisis asmática en el área de emergencia pediátrica del hospital universitario de Guayaquil, de los pacientes atendidos durante el periodo del 2014-2015.

It is an important cause of use of hospital services, being the main cause of hospitalizations due to chronic illness in childhood, and responsible for a high socio-sanitary cost. (1) The purpose of the research is to analyze the asthmatic crisis using the Downes scale, in patients from the University Hospital of Guayaquil in the period 2014-2015, so it is expected to update information on this pathology of great demand in the hospital and to provide recommendations that will serve to elaborate Strategies to prevent complications and minimize the negative impact of this pathology.
