EVALUACIÓN DE LA PERTINENCIA DE LOS INSTRUMENTOS EN EL PROCESO DIAGNÓSTICO DE DEPRESIÓN EN LOS ADULTOS MAYORES CENTRO

Resumen
El presente trabajo de titulación se elaboró como producto de la sistematización de las experiencias vividas que se llevaron a cabo en el Centro Diurno “Soy tu amigo en tu vejez” de la ciudad de Durán, fue realizado mediante el proyecto: Promoción de la salud mental y evaluación psicosocial de los adultos y adultas mayores. El trabajo de sistematización se tituló: evaluación de la pertinencia de los instrumentos en el proceso diagnóstico de depresión en adultos mayores. Los Adultos Mayores del centro se mostraban como personas activas y optimistas, sin embargo, mediante las intervenciones manifestaban tener síntomas depresivos, por factores como soledad, abandono, viudez, presencia de enfermedades degenerativas y problemas económicos. A pesar de esto, se mostraron con total resiliencia frente a situaciones que provocaban estos síntomas. El eje de sistematización fue saber cuál es la pertinencia de los instrumentos de diagnóstico de depresión en adultos mayores. La finalidad fue comprender desde la experiencia de las practicas, si la aplicación de los instrumentos para evaluar depresión en el adulto mayor es pertinente a nuestra población, la metodología cualitativa descriptiva que se usó, mediante métodos y herramientas de carácter exploratorios, como la escala de depresión geriátrica, entrevistas, test de autoestima, ficha sociodemográfica, informe de instrumentos y de memoria técnica. Como aprendizaje dentro de este proceso pudimos valorar que los resultados de los instrumentos son afines al comportamiento observable del sujeto, en conclusión, los instrumentos son apropiados porque permitió tener un diagnóstico adecuado, conforme a las particularidades que presentadas por los participantes
The present degree work was developed as a result of the systematization of the lived experiences that took place in the Day Center "I am your friend in your old age" of the city of Durán, was carried out through the project: Promotion of mental health and psychosocial evaluation of adults and older adults. The systematization work was titled: evaluation of the relevance of the instruments in the diagnostic process of depression in older adults. Older Adults of the center were shown as active and optimistic people; however, through the interventions they manifested to have depressive symptoms, due to factors such as loneliness, abandonment, widowhood, presence of degenerative diseases and economic problems. Despite this, they showed complete resilience in situations that caused these symptoms. The systematization axis was to know what is the relevance of diagnostic instruments for depression in older adults. The purpose was to understand from the experience of the practices, if the application of the instruments to assess depression in the older adult is relevant to our population, the qualitative descriptive methodology that was used, through exploratory methods and tools, such as the scale of geriatric depression, interviews, self-esteem test, sociodemographic record, report of instruments and technical memory. As learning in this process we could assess that the results of the instruments are related to the observe behavior of the subject, in conclusion, the instruments are appropriate because it allowed to have an adequate diagnostic, according to the particularities presented by the participants
