Resumen
El síndrome del túnel carpiano es uno de los principales problemas de salud de los trabajadores que desarrollan tareas relacionadas con esfuerzos manuales intensos y movimientos repetitivos del miembro superior que acuden a consulta externa de las diferentes especialidades y subespecialidades del Hospital Teodoro Maldonado Carbo. Por lo tanto, el presente trabajo investigativo; tiene como finalidad determinar el perfil epidemiológico del síndrome del túnel carpiano en pacientes con edades comprendidas entre 20 a 60 años. Por tal motivo se ha enfocado además en identificar en que genero regularmente se encuentra el STC, el grupo etario donde la STC se presenta con mayor frecuencia. La predominancia de localización de dicha enfermedad con respecto al miembro superior afecto y conocer a su vez que enfermedades se asocian al STC. El estudio se desarrolló bajo el nivel descriptivo ya que al correlacionar las variables permitió tener una mejor noción de lo que se está estudiando y exponiendo en este trabajo.

Therefore, the present investigative work; Its purpose is to determine the epidemiological profile of carpal tunnel syndrome in patients aged between 20 and 60 years. For this reason, it has also focused on identifying what gender the STC is on a regular basis, the age group where the STC occurs most frequently. The predominance of localization of said disease with respect to the affected upper limb and, in turn, knowing which diseases are associated with the STC. The study was developed under the descriptive level since by correlating the variables allowed to have a better notion of what is being studied and exposed in this work.
