Resumen
El trabajo en cuestión muestra a la cultura hip hop desde una perspectiva
contracultural, entendiéndola como un movimiento de lucha y resistencia nacida
desde sectores urbano marginales del primer mundo, auto definidos como “ghettos”,
específicamente en el sur del Bronx y Harlem en la ciudad de Nueva York a finales de
los 60s y principios de los años 70s, compuesto en su mayoría por afroamericanos y
latinoamericanos.
En esta tesis hacemos una correlación entre las teorías de hegemonía y contra
hegemonía de Gramsci, la teoría de la des-colonización cultural de Enrique Dussel y
la cultura hip hop. El propósito de esto es analizar al hip hop en su devenir histórico
como una expresión socio-organizativa tendiente a la acción política no
institucionalista, para esto, hemos analizado en una línea de tiempo partiendo desde
sus orígenes y observando el desarrollo del movimiento, al tiempo de identificar
diferentes organizaciones reconocidas del mundo hip hop, y acercarnos a testimonios
de varios representantes de Colectivos hip hop, en total 8, con un carácter político y
organizativo existentes en el Ecuador desde hace 20 años.
Todo esto, se realizará para determinar las características que tiene la cultura hip hop y establecer nexos constitutivos con la praxis socio-organizativa de esta particular corriente contracultural. Our thesis shows how understanding the hip hop culture from a counter-cultural
perspective, emphasizing it as a social movement of struggle and resistance born from
the marginalization population of the first world, precisely in the ghetto's of the South
Bronx (United States) by the late 60's and early 70's conformed mostly by African
Americans and Latin Americans.
In our thesis we make a correlation between the theories of hegemony and counter
hegemony of Gramsci, its relacion with the theory of cultural de-colonization of Enrique
Dussel, with the hip hop culture. The purpose of this is to describe and analyze hip hop
from its birth and its development as a social and fighting organization. Because of this
we base our analysis of a timeline, starting from its origins, history and analysing the
different hip hop organizations known in the world, as well as interviewing several
representatives, in total 8, of the different hip hop groups with a political and
organizational character existing in Ecuador during the last 20 years.
The objective of this investigation is to determine the characteristics that Hip Hop
Culture has as a social and fighting organization.
