Resumen
En el sistema de salud, la calidad de atención tiene vital importancia para mejorar la
satisfacción del usuario, el evaluar la calidad de atención que se brinda a los usuarios de la
consulta externa del Hospital SOLCA Machala mediante la aplicación de encuestas permite
como institución mejorar la calidad de la misma. La entrevista inicial en una consulta externa
de un Hospital Oncológico, se constituye en un pilar fundamental de lo que será el manejo
oncológico, pero esta puede tener una serie de influencias negativas cuando surgen conflictos
que pueden ser causados por un sin número de factores que deben ser tomados en cuenta
dentro de la administración de un servicio de salud. En cuanto a la metodología es una
investigación cualitativa en la que se investigó los factores que influyen en la calidad de
atención brindada y la evaluación de la misma. Los resultados obtenidos tenemos que en el
Hospital SOLCA se evidencia un número significativo de usuarios que muestran
insatisfacción de la calidad de atención recibida por parte del personal médico y de
enfermería, como lo es la poca información que recibieron en relación con su problema de
salud y sobre las inquietudes que tuvieron del tratamiento. El personal médico y de
enfermería no cuenta con protocolos para una atención de calidad, motivo por el cual existe
ciertas insolvencias que se dan durante la atención al usuario, ya sea previo o durante la cita
médica, evidenciándose la necesidad de ser orientados para brindar una calidad de atención.
