paciente.
The research was quantitative, with the purpose of establishing the relationship between the variables, which were analyzed retrospectively since statistical data were used and it was concluded regarding the classification of the sample sent to the laboratory of cytohistopatology of the Hospital of SOLCA Portoviejo that the majority of the samples corresponded to cytological and to a lesser extent to surgical pieces and it was evidenced that there was no delay in the presented cases since the time between the reception and the report of results was of 8 to 10 days. Regarding the collection and reception of the sample and delivery to the macroscopic area, there were no delays. In the time of delivery to microscopy and beginning of sample processing there was no delay either. In the total time of the preanalytical and analytical phases a time of five days was presented and in the time between reception of histological preparations and diagnosis they presented a delay of one day. Regarding the time between diagnosis and report delivery, the delay was two days. 96.38% of the requests were real urgently. The samples had a proper pathological clinical correlation 100%. Given the existence of technology there is greater precision and delivery as soon as possible of the results given the urgency of the patient
