Lesiones orales en pacientes portadores de prótesis removible pertenecientes a la Facultad de Odontología

Las lesiones presentes en la cavidad oral afectan el estado de salud general de los pacientes, esto se debe a que son patologías acumulativas o progresivas que ocasionan diversos trastornos fisiológicos que pueden afectar el estilo de comer, el aspecto, la forma de comunicarse, y en ciertas ocasiones presentan dolor y molestias. El propósito de este estudio fue determinar las lesiones orales en pacientes portadores de prótesis removibles pertenecientes a la facultad de odontología del segundo periodo académico 2019 – 2020. Se identificó y evaluó las lesiones orales más frecuentes mediante: la edad, género, tipo de lesión y factores de riesgo presentes. Se examinaron 50 pacientes portadores de prótesis removible parcial y total, de los cuales 30 fueron mujeres y 20 hombres. Se realizó una inspección clínica de la cavidad oral así como también se recogió datos mediante la historia clínica 033 de cada paciente y a su vez se realizó un breve interrogatorio lo que permitió determinar que un 22% correspondían al sexo femenino presentando lesiones asociadas al uso de prótesis dentales y en un rango de 40 a 60 años con un 14%. En los tejidos blandos la lesión oral más frecuente fue la estomatitis subprotesica con un 28%, y en tejidos duros la atrición con un 8%. El tiempo, el uso, la higiene oral y el estado de prótesis removibles predisponen a la aparición de lesiones orales siendo la rehabilitación parcial de acrílico la que condicionan el desarrollo de las mismas en muestro de estudio
Lesions present in the oral cavity affect the general state of health of the patients, this is because they are cumulative or progressive pathologies that cause various physiological disorders that can affect the style of eating, the appearance, the way of communicating, and in certain occasions they produce pain and discomfort. The purpose of this study is to determine oral lesions in patients with removable prostheses belonging to the faculty of dentistry of the second academic period 2019 - 2020. The most frequent oral lesions were identified and evaluated by: age, gender, type of injury and risk factors present. 50 patients with partial and total removable prostheses were examined, of which 30 were women and 20 men. A clinical inspection of the oral cavity was performed as well as data were collected through the clinical history 033 of each patient; and in turn a brief interrogation was carried out which allowed to determine that 22% corresponded to the female sex presenting lesions associated with the use of prostheses Dental and in a range of 40 to 60 years with 14%. In soft tissues, the most frequent oral lesion was subprotic stomatitis with 28%, and in hard tissues, attrition with 8%. Prosthesis time and use, oral hygiene and the state of removable prostheses predispose to the appearance of oral lesions being the partial acrylic rehabilitation the most appropriate one
