Evaluación de la actividad antiinflamatoria del extracto etanólico del rizoma de Smilax purhampuy R.

Resumen
En el presente trabajo, se evaluó la actividad antiinflamatoria del extracto etanólico del rizoma de Smilax purhampuy R. Se utilizó el modelo de inflamación crónica y aguda de edema auricular inducido por aceite de Croton. Se conformaron 5 grupos de 6 ratones: control negativo (A), control positivo tratado con betametasona (B), los grupos tratados con 10, 20 y 40 µl del extracto (C, D, E). Luego de la aplicación de los tratamientos en la oreja izquierda se indujo la inflamación, y después de 6 horas se midió el espesor. Posteriormente, los biomodelos fueron sacrificados para obtener discos de 6 mm de diámetro de cada oreja, se los pesó para calcular el porcentaje de inflamación y de inhibición. De acuerdo a los resultados se concluyó que la especie posee actividad antiinflamatoria, siendo el grupo E (40 µl), cuya concentración corresponde a 0.2 mg, quien presentó mayor inhibición después del fármaco control.
In the present work, the anti-inflammatory activity of the ethanolic extract of the rhizome of Smilax purhampuy R. was evaluated. The chronic and acute inflammation model of Croton oil-induced atrial edema was used. Five groups of 6 mice were formed: negative control (A), positive control treated with betamethasone (B), the groups treated with 10, 20 and 40 µl of the extract (C, D, E). After the application of the treatments in the left ear, inflammation was induced, and after 6 hours the thickness was measured. Subsequently, the biomodels were sacrificed to obtain 6 mm diameter discs of each ear, weighed to calculate the percentage of inflammation and inhibition. According to the results, it was concluded that the species has anti-inflammatory activity, being the group E (40 µl), whose concentration corresponds to 0.2 mg, who presented greater inhibition after the control drug.
