The present research work was developed with the objective of proposing a tool that helps to control and monitor agglomerations in times of pandemics. In current times where biosafety and social distancing controls are of vital importance, the IoT offers the possibility of proposing a solution that with the help of the different types of existing sensors and the massive use of smartphones in modern societies can make an estimate of the people present in a physical place. Using the Design Thinking methodology that for decades has been used to develop prototypes that help provide solutions to problems that affect society in all its areas. Using longrange wireless networks such as LoRa, data can be collected in real time to be displayed on all devices that can surf the internet. Understanding and being able to analyze this data in an optimal way to provide constant monitoring of agglomerations. Concluding that the possibilities offered by modern communication technologies plus wireless sensor networks can develop powerful applications to support society to adapt more quickly to the so-called new normal.
