Resumen
El presente trabajo de investigación tiene como principal objetivo analizar el entorno de la minería ilegal en el Cantón Camilo Ponce Enríquez, periodo 2007-2018, a lo que se refiere a la formalización y al incumplimiento de los estándares mineros y su efecto en el daño ambiental en el referido cantón. La temática de investigación relaciona el daño ambiental abordando este tema desde la teoría económica, utilizando para este fin, la teoría de las externalidades, la economía institucional y otros enfoques complementarios de análisis. Este trabajo se realizó bajo un enfoque mixto, cualitativo y cuantitativo, con un alcance descriptivo y un enfoque en el análisis de característica documental, la cual se combinó con fuentes secundarias y terciarias relacionadas con el tema de estudio. Los resultados obtenidos, en la presente investigación nos permitió determinar que, en el periodo de estudio, el impacto de la minería ilegal en la localidad desde la perspectiva legal y ambiental, se ve reflejado en resultados que evidencian las externalidades negativas, medidas a través de los principales indicadores de daño ambiental, el deterioro del medio ambiente provocado por la actividad minera generó pasivos ambientales que afectan a la localidad
The main objective of this research is to analyze the environment of illegal mining in the Canton of Camilo Ponce Enríquez, 2007-2018, as regards the formalization and non-compliance with mining standards and its effect on environmental damage in the canton concerned. The research topic relates environmental damage by addressing this issue from the economic theory, using for this purpose, the theory of externalities, institutional economics and other complementary approaches of analysis. This work was carried out under a mixed approach, qualitative and quantitative, with a descriptive scope and a focus on the analysis of documentary characteristic, which was combined with secondary and tertiary sources related to the topic of study. The results obtained in this investigation allowed us to determine that, in the period under study, the impact of illegal mining on the locality from a legal and environmental perspective is reflected in results that show negative externalities, measures through the main indicators of environmental damage, the deterioration of the environment caused by mining activity generated environmental liabilities where 559 cases were recorded during the 2016-2016 period2018, due to the incorrect disposal of liquid and solid waste affecting the locality
