Resumen
La presente investigación está orientada a determinar la incidencia de la firma del Acuerdo Comercial Multipartes entre Ecuador y la Unión Europea, sobre las exportaciones del sector cacaotero durante un periodo del 2013-2018. En este caso, se identificó que a través de la firma del acuerdo la UE estableció una serie de requerimientos y especificaciones que debe cumplir el cacao ecuatoriano y sus derivados para ingresar a dicho mercado, lo cual pudo suponer un desafío para las empresas que no han logrado adaptarse a dichos parámetros. Por lo tanto, para llevar a cabo la investigación se consideró un tipo de investigación descriptiva puesto que se realizó un estudio a profundidad sobre el acuerdo comercial multipartes y la Unión Europea, a fin de identifica su incidencia en las exportaciones de cacao y sus elaborados, la información se obtuvo a través de fuentes documentales y a través de entrevistas realizadas a representantes de empresas exportadoras del sector cacaotero radicadas en la provincia del Guayas. Los resultados obtenidos evidenciaron que la firma del acuerdo no incidió de manera favorable sobre el sector, puesto que por el contrario durante el periodo posterior a la puesta en vigencia del acuerdo (2017) se evidenció una disminución en las exportaciones de cacao y sus derivados hacia la UE, por lo cual se propusieron estrategias orientadas contribuir con el fortalecimiento del sector
This research is aimed at determining the incidence of the signing of the Multipart Trade Agreement between Ecuador and the European Union, on exports of the cocoa sector during a period of 2013-2018. In this case, it was identified that through the signing of the agreement the EU established a series of requirements and specifications that Ecuadorian cocoa and its derivatives must meet to enter said market, which could be a challenge for companies that have not managed to adapt to these parameters. Therefore, in order to carry out the investigation, a type of descriptive research was considered since an in-depth study was carried out on the multi-party trade agreement and the European Union, in order to identify its impact on cocoa exports and their processed, The information was obtained through documentary sources and through interviews with representatives of export companies of the cocoa sector located in the province of Guayas. The results obtained showed that the signing of the agreement did not have a favorable impact on the sector, since on the contrary during the period after the agreement came into force (2017) there was a decrease in exports of cocoa and its derivatives towards The EU, therefore, strategies aimed at contributing to the strengthening of the sector were proposed
