In the present research work was analyzed, through an econometric model, the existing relationship of Inflation, Foreign Direct Investment and Unemployment with respect to the consumption of Ecuadorian families during the period 2009-2018. The methodology that was applied in the research was quantitative, obtaining information from different sources such as the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Central Bank of Ecuador; and correlational, which was tested using a time series model. By submitting the variables to an econometric analysis, it shows how only two of the three independent variables exposed in the project (unemployment and inflation) turn out to be so significant that they explain the variation in household consumption, thus breaking with one of the theories that it affirms, its relevance on the dependent variable, so it is excluded from the regression model, to avoid abnormalities in it.
