The pressure of blowing air into the lungs with a ventilator can injure lungs. Doctors try to keep this risk to a minimum, although the use of different pressures cause lung injury. Very high oxygen levels too they can be harmful to the lung. Doctors only administer the oxygen needed to make sure the body receives enough to maintain vital organs. Sometimes it's difficult reduce risk when lungs are injured. This injury can sometimes heal if the person is able to recover from serious illness. Side effects of medications usually Medications sometimes sedatives may accumulate and the patient may remain in deep sleep for hours or days even after you have stopped taking the medicine. Doctors and nurses try to adjust the correct amount of medication for each patient. The different patients react differently to each medication. If the muscle paralysis, sometimes the muscles are weak for a time after having it suppressed. This will improve over time. In patients who are very ill, sometimes the ventilator only postpones the death. Not every patient improves just by using a ventilator. It is difficult to predict or know for sure if a person will recover with treatment. Sometimes doctors they are very confident that the ventilator will help and the patient will recover. Other times, Doctors can only give a rough idea of the chances of survival of the person. Doctors may have to ask the patient (or family members) if they should keep the ventilator on if the patient is not recovering or is getting worse. Although patients can die even while on a ventilator, sometimes the ventilator it seems to prolong the dying process.
