The dental malformations occur from the second month of intrauterine life because in this period of important transformations embryonic structures such as the dental sac, dental papilla occurs, and the dental organ in the process will result in histodifferentiation formation of enamel, dentin and cementum. The pathogenetic factors involved in dental development disturbances are basically two: genetic - hereditary and environmental. Mutation of these genes, in addition to altering the dental morphodifferentiation, can have side effects and affect other organs. Also in regard to local causes, may occur as a trauma during tooth development, or may be idiopathic. Based on the period of tooth development, the 5 types of dental defects are malformations of number, size malformations, defects of form, structure defects, color defects, malformations of the eruption. Each shortcoming brings either the aesthetic, functional and structural. Such situations can be understood by knowing the normal development and stages, categories relating to periods during which malformations, to prevent them where possible or treat them with proper rehabilitation originate. For this we have suggested treatments at each of the defects, for which it has been taken into consideration: the clinical importance, the profile of the patient, the amount and direction of growth, presence or absence of symptoms of severe malocclusions, color, position relative to the abnormality and dental sizes
