La construcción del significado cultural y la representación social de una persona parte
del proceso psicosocial formado en el contexto de su vida y desarrollo, que le da sentido y
calidad a la vida. El manejo de la salvaguardia del patrimonio cultural de bienes inmuebles
por parte de los actores culturales es una problemática a nivel local, nacional e internacional.
La memoria colectiva de una comunidad es un bien intangible que debe ser atesorado, debido
a la carga histórica, social, cultural que conlleva. Por lo tanto, es deber de la comunidad
académica el investigar qué se está haciendo por conservar el patrimonio cultural. El presente
estudio tiene un alcance local en el centro tradicional de Guayaquil. El objetivo general es
cartografiar los bienes culturales del centro tradicional y su relación con los actores
ciudadanos. Para ello se desarrolló una cartografía básica de los bienes inmuebles
patrimoniales del centro tradicional de Guayaquil que forman parte del inventario del Sistema
de Información de Patrimonio Cultural Ecuatoriano (SIPCE) y en segundo lugar se indagó
acerca de las percepciones ciudadanas sobre la conservación o manejo de dichos bienes
culturales. Para efectuar el objetivo general se empleó el método de investigación CualiCuantitativa, y se sustentó bajo la teoría de Paisajes Culturales y el análisis de la NaturalistaHermeneútica. Se encuestó a una muestra de 384 Guayaquileños-as, en donde se pudo
contrastar con información de profesionales en el área de Patrimonio Cultural que la
apropiación del patrimonio por parte de la ciudadanía es limitada y que no se está realizando una adecuada gestión de proyectos por parte de las autoridades en donde la ciudadanía se vea involucrada. The construction of cultural meaning and social representation of a person is part of the
psychosocial process formed in the context of their life and development, which gives
meaning and quality to life. The management of the safeguarding of the cultural heritage of
real estate by cultural actors is a problem at the local, national and international level. The
collective memory of a community is an intangible asset that must be treasured, due to the
historical, social, and cultural burden that it entails. Therefore, it is the duty of the academic
community to investigate what is being done to conserve cultural heritage. This study has a
local scope in the traditional center of Guayaquil. The general objective is to map the cultural
assets of the traditional center and its relationship with citizen actors. For this, a basic
cartography of the patrimonial real estate of the traditional center of Guayaquil that are part
of the inventory of the Ecuadorian Cultural Heritage Information System (SIPCE) was
developed and secondly, it was inquired about the citizens' perceptions about the
conservation or management of said cultural property. To carry out the general objective, the
Qual-Quantitative research method was used, and it was sustained under the theory of
Cultural Landscapes and the analysis of the Naturalist-Hermeneutic. A sample of 384
Guayaquileños-as was surveyed, where it was possible to contrast with information from
professionals in the area of Cultural Heritage that the appropriation of heritage by citizens is limited and that adequate project management is not being carried out by part of the authorities where citizens are involved.
