This work is aimed at encouraging innovation, production, and adoption of products based on Hyaluronic Acid by researchers and professionals involved in dentistry, especially in oral surgery, since it is of utmost importance to learn more about the effects produced by the use of Hyaluronic Acid in the management of post-surgical therapy. OBJECTIVE: To establish the degree of efficacy of the use of Hyaluronic Acid as a coadjuvant in post-surgical therapy. METHODOLOGY: The approach of this research was bibliographic, using analyticalsynthetic, historical-logical, deductive, and descriptive methods. A bibliographic review of articles and scientific sources, books, and repositories was made, collecting and analyzing results relevant to this work. RESULTS: Hyaluronic acid is an excellent therapeutic option for the repair of injured tissues; it intervenes in the healing of wounds and inflammatory processes, causing analgesic action. It can stimulate cell migration, proliferation, and differentiation allowing the formation of a more receptive blood clot susceptible to being colonized by cells involved in tissue reconstruction; it accelerates bone regeneration and produces analgesic action in the alveoli after extraction, reducing the use of anti-inflammatory drugs. CONCLUSIONS: It was possible to establish that Hyaluronic Acid acts effectively as a repairer and regenerator on injured tissues, favoring their healing, exerting high analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and antiedematous action, without causing toxic events; its effects do not limit it only to be cataloged as a coadjuvant, but it can even be used as a substitute for traditional pharmacological therapy
