Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool (MUST) y Malnutrition Inflammation Score (MIS),
This research aimed to know the nutritional risk of patients in hemodialysis therapy through comparative analysis of nutritional screenings: Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool (MUST) and Malnutrition Inflammation Score (MIS), following a non-experimental methodology with retrospective cross-sectional design, the sample consisted of 60 patients from the Renal Foundation of Ecuador Iñigo Alvarez de Toledo, as a result there was a prevalence of mild malnutrition (50%) based on MIS parameters and low risk prevalence (80%) according to MUST parameters, a similarity was also observed in the categories of severe malnutrition and high risk (10%) in both screenings however there was no relationship in the other categories of nutritional risk by the different variables they consider the same. In conclusion, MIS was found to be a better nutritional risk predictor in hemodialysis patients as a more comprehensive tool that includes the entire nutritional status assessment process.
