Resumen
Entre una de las principales preocupaciones de quienes habitan en barrios semiurbanos es la pavimentación de las calles, esta también es una de las necesidades que padece el barrio la revancha en la ciudad de Manta lo que hace preciso la planificación de estas obras con el fin de mejorar la movilización de los habitantes. La presente investigación tiene como finalidad el diseño de la estructura del pavimento flexible para las vías del barrio “la revancha” en la ciudad de manta, utilizando la metodología AASHTO 93 aceptada por el Ministerio de Transporte y Obras Públicas. Esta metodología ayuda a conseguir los espesores de la carpeta asfáltica, base, subbase y mejoramiento, previo a la realización del diseño, se realizó el estudio del tráfico que consiste en efectuar un conteo vehicular para establecer el tráfico promedio diario anual (TPDA). Además, para establecer el tipo de suelo existente se realizaron calicatas.

The purpose of this research is to design the flexible pavement structure for the roads of the neighborhood “la revancha” in the city of Manta, using the AASHTO 93 methodology accepted by the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works. This methodology helps to obtain the thicknesses of the asphalt layer, base, subbase and improvement, prior to the design, the traffic study was carried out, which consists of carrying out a vehicular count to establish the annual average daily traffic (ADT). In addition, to establish the type of existing soil, pits were made.
