Resumen
Esta investigación se realizó sobre las consecuencias del período de expulsión prolongado en el recién nacido y en la madre en el hospital materno infantil Matilde hidalgo de Procel, basado en una metodología cuantitativa para identificar el número de incidencias que ocurrieron en el período de junio de 2019 hasta enero de 2020. Esto se realizó gracias a los datos estadísticos otorgados por el hospital en el que se realizó el estudio sobre el 83% de la población a investigar. En el que se estableció que hubo 53.75% de complicaciones debido al parto expulsivo prolongado. Esto tuvo repercusiones tanto en la madre como en el neonato. se obtuvo como mayor índice en la madre los casos de desgarros perineales de grado I y II y en el neonato la aspiración meconial y Apgar menor de 3 llegando a presentar hemorragias retinianas
This research was conducted on the consequences of the prolonged expulsion period on the newborn and the mother at the Matilde hidalgo maternal and child hospital in Procel, based on a quantitative methodology to identify the number of incidents that occurred in the period of June 2019 until January 2020. This was done thanks to the statistical data provided by the hospital in which the study was carried out on 83% of the population to be investigated. In which it was established that there were 53.75% of complications due to prolonged delivery. This had repercussions for both the mother and the newborn. The cases of grade I and II perineal tears were obtained as the highest index in the mother, and meconial aspiration and Apgar less than 3 in the neonate, presenting retinal hemorrhages
