The influence of using songs to develop EFL learner's speaking skills.

Resumen
The present research project was carried out with the objective of evaluating the influence of the use of songs in the development of oral competence in students of the tenth level (A2 level) Uruguay school in the city of Portoviejo. The research is based on articles, specialized theses and research conducted by professionals which provided the scientific basis for the study variables: songs and speaking. The methodology used was the application of a survey to the students, an interview with the English teacher and an observation of the class. Songs were analyzed as a pedagogical resource, and the most common problems that affect students' learning of oral skills were identified. Finally, as a contribution, the author designed a didactic guide based on the use of songs as a ludic strategy to improve the teaching-learning process and strengthen oral skills.
